OASIS Youth Pastor Intern – Canyon Springs Church (Middle & High School Ministry)
Canyon Springs Church is seeking a Youth Pastor Intern to help lead a vibrant, Christ-centered ministry for students in grades 6–12. This interim, stipend-supported internship is designed for someone actively pursuing Biblical Studies, Theology, or equivalent ministry education and eager to gain hands-on experience in a healthy church environment. The role blends leadership, discipleship, administration, and volunteer development while providing mentoring and practical ministry training.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Weekly Midweek Gatherings using the OASIS Midweek Template, ensuring smooth flow from leader meetings to cleanup.
Engage on Sundays by building relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and the broader church community.
Manage Ministry Budgets for Middle School and High School, including tracking expenses and responsible stewardship.
Oversee Small Groups by ensuring qualified, compliance-approved leaders each semester.
Create Monthly Schedules for leaders, small groups, message series, games, and program elements.
Recruit & Develop Volunteers—identify, onboard, train, schedule, and support volunteers for all youth ministry roles.
Coordinate Volunteers Weekly to ensure all Midweek roles (Games Lead, Worship, Tech, Admin, Cleanup, etc.) are filled.
Build Strong Relationships with students and parents through clear, timely, and gracious communication.
Plan & Execute Events including camps, retreats, worship nights, ONE Night, and other youth initiatives.
Maintain Rosters for leaders and students.
Support Volunteer Teams with encouragement, care, and ongoing communication.
Model Spiritual Maturity through an active relationship with Jesus and Christ-like character.
Qualifications
Mature Christian faith and commitment to Jesus Christ
Pursuing theological/ministry education
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Reliable, proactive, detail-oriented, and team-minded
Passion for youth ministry and discipleship
Must complete required background checks and compliance training
Time Commitment
Approximately 15-20 hours per week, including:
Weekly Midweek gatherings (Wed/Thu evenings)
Monthly leader planning meetings
Weekly staff meetings
Event and camp planning sessions
Ongoing parent/leader communication
Support & Development
Interns receive mentoring from experienced pastors, access to curriculum and planning tools, administrative support, and partnership with seasoned volunteer leaders. This role offers meaningful responsibility and practical ministry experience in a supportive, Christ-centered environment.
