The National Network of Youth Ministries launched MentorYouth.com through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice. The objective of this faith-based initiative is to recruit and refer large numbers of adults in churches across America to serve as mentors to young people in their local communities. Doug Tegner, Executive Director of the National Network, remarked, "What a tremendous opportunity is before us! Imagine the 'salt and light' influence we could have on this entire generation of young people if thousands of caring adults from the Church caught the vision to invest a little of their time as mentors."
