This song is the last song on the Step Up to the Microphone album. It is based on Psalm 68:5, "A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling." This is a beautiful song. The song is about a father leaving a family. It tells how God will be your father in the fatherless days. A truly great song.
All the angels of Heaven rejoice as a lost soul returns to his/her Father....Entertaining Angels by the light of my TV screen...24/7 He waits for me
We can always go home to our Father
Forgiveness is giving up the right to get even. Boy, I'm sure glad that Jesus has forgiven me of the punishment I should receive for my sins. Healing comes when we are able follow Christ's example and forgive others.
"When you come back again, could you bring me something from the fridge? Heard a rumor that the end is near, but I just got comfortable here." It's a great song with many layers of meaning. It works very well in a discussion of how our spiritual "highs" tend to wane over time. Let it step on a few toes for you.
"Tuning in" to God in an active prayer life. Let's see, we "tune in" into tv, radio, etc., but at times, do we fade in and out with God? We hear the need to be reaching for something higher, so let's be "tuning in around the world, all you boys and all you girls, tune in till ya drown the noise, all you girls and all you boys."
