It is an interesting phrase and absolutely true to every aspect of our life. We spend our whole lives searching, seeking and looking for something to fill us, to excite us or give us hope. It?s amazing how there are so many ?things? to distract us. God is calling us to something so great, so incredible and so often we settle for the mediocre. No matter where we find ourselves in our walk with God he is always calling us to go deeper. There is never a point where we can be satisfied with what we have and know of God. His wonders are endless, there is never a point when we have a reason not to be amazed by Him. He is simply AMAZING! Deep to Deep the song, and the title for the CD comes from just that. I never want to find myself settling for anything less than Gods best. Sometimes that will stretch me, and even be a bit painful, but I?m held so securely in the maker of the universe, I am being cradled in the arms of my heavenly father.
I've met so many people that are not Christians, some that are, that have wondered why they look around and see joy in the Christians they are in contact with. Why the joy seems so abundant in others lives and not in theirs. It's so easy to lose sight of the Hope in our walk with Christ sometimes. Not because we stop believing in Jesus, or because our walk with Him is going down the tubes, but because we forget that one of the greatest joys of our salvation is spending an eternity with Jesus walking and talking with him. The more we set our minds on Christ and are sensitive to Him the more He can fill us with Himself. It's impossible for Jesus to fill us up with the JOY of His salvation if our sinful nature is taking up all the room! He already paid for the sinful nature in us now we just need to give it up to Him! To let ourselves be ONLY His.
I was awestruck as I thought about a completely holy, completely sovereign God, placing his comforting hand on my life and forgiving me for my foolishness. The more I laid everything at His feet the stronger the assurance was in my life that He was in complete control. I was left SO IN AWE of who God is, was and ever will be.
