Despite what many like to think, we're not all basically good deep down. the Bible says "all ahve sinned..." We're born bad. To a Christian, we can only overcome that by dying to Christ. Like Paul said, "I die daily."
The future can be scary. It's only through God and faith, that I've learned to look to the future with expectancy and excitement as opposed to dread and fear.
We live in an age where something has to be seen to be believed. We have a hard time grasping things like the concept of "love." Even more brain-boggling is God's love toward us. God will always reach us in a way so real that our hearts and then even our minds can count on it as factual.
Most of us have to be at the very end of the rope before we'll call upon God. This song was written after fighting a long battle I couldn't win. It confirmed to me that my way isn't the best way. If you want to live truly stress-free, then "give up."
When Jesus turned over the tables in the temple, he shocked people. Without condoning violence, this song is a metaphor, implying that the same type of perspecitive shift will be applied today to the minds in question when they are confronted by a REAL Christian.
Spiritual awareness is on the upswing in our culture. Unfortunately, there are countless forms of godliness attracting people's attention that do not contain the true nature of God's power. They look real, but are only imitations. Be careful who you follow.
This song addresses the subject of ME-ism. Rudeness and selfishness rule the day. I am and you are - get out of your denial! Just admit it and quit it.
This song is my personal connection to the story of the prodigal. It's repeated i all of us, to some degree, at some point. It is an utterly hopeless feeling to be surrounded by people, and sometimes even friends, and still feel totally alone. You never feel like you're where you're supposed to be until you come home.
"I love to hear the preacher when he's preaching on prosperity.
My very best freinds or Jesus, i myself, and me. But if i had to pick the one i counldn't live without, there'd be no doubt, i'd point my gorgeous finger at me"
These lines from the song say it all!
