Synopsis: Scriptural truths about the eternal lock that God has put on a Christian's salvation.
Read the Conditions of Use Statement.

Sherry was a high school girl who had walked down the aisle of her church years earlier to ask Jesus Christ to come into her heart. She did her best to learn from the pastor's preaching and studying the Bible, but as she rode along in her brother's pickup truck, she broke down and started crying. "I'm just not sure, Ken! I mean, I know what I did - and I remember going forward in the evening service and all that. I even remember the counsellor who talked with me. But it just seems like I could've lost it all. You know, with sin and stuff. I love Jesus, I really do, and I try to obey Him every day. But I'm afraid something may have separated me from salvation. Is that possible?"

Danny sat down across from Bert at the Mexican restaurant. "I'm a school teacher in a Christian school, " said the 21 year old Danny, "but I have no feeling that I am saved anymore. It's not like I've had any grievous sin or any rebelliousness. It's just that - well, I don't know that I can explain it. And please Bert, don't give me any Christian cliches or pat answers. I'm staking my life on this, you know? I need some answers. Is my salvation forever or is it possible to lose it?"

In both of the cases above (they are true - we changed the names of people to protect their privacy.) the young people were distraught and straight-to-the- core on their anxieties. You may feel the same way. We looked at some other Scriptures in our last devotional. Let's look at one more.

Stop here and read Romans 8:28-39. Look here for one or two points in the area we have been discussing. Write down one or two thoughts that would tell you that you could not lose your salvation. Write it in your own words:
____________________________________________
____________________________________________

Why has God done this - going so far to save people like us? Remember John 3:16 - "For God so _____________ the world..." It's because of love. Can you fathom that? God loves you. What did you do to deserve it? Nothing, right? Like we read in Ephesians 2, it was by grace and there was nothing we did to impress God into giving us salvation. He made it available to us because He loves us. Let that sink in for a while! Name three things in verses 38 and 39 that have no power to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. ______________  ______________  ______________

Verse 39 "...nor any other creature..." No other creation can take away what God has given us when we got saved! Would that include Satan? ___________
Would that include a fast-talking atheist? ______________________
Would that even include ourselves getting depressed and feeling we are unworthy? _________________
We have a powerful, unyielding salvation because we have a powerful, unyielding God! When He says He will not change His mind about salvation, He means it.

Conclude this devotional by writing out your memory verse and then reciting it to someone. Have them sign the line below.
