Spiritual Goals

OPENING
Start with court case. If being a Christian was illegal, is there enough evidence to be prove you guilty?

• Have person explain and defend themselves. (Have attorneys and let them meet before church and be prepared)
Questions of Christians
How are you living?
• Get some feed back and feel out audience.
What are you doing as Christians? What is your ministry about?
• Get feedback
Do you have goals as a Christian? (Ex.--To stay away from certain temptations)
Why are you here tonight?

Goals
What are goals? (Christian goals and Life's goals)-differences
• Direction to go in
• Gives us something to strive for
• Allows us to grow

How do we make them?
Why do we need them?
• Role models
• if we don't have a direction to go, temptations are to easy to fall into.

If no goals, why not sin?
• If a guy has a problem looking at girls, then if he has no goal for not doing it, then he'll fall to the temptation and lust.

Bible
2 Thessalonians 3:6-7
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us. For you ourselves know how you ought to follow our example. God wants us to have them and not be idle.

3 runners and a coach story- why run against a slow runner when you press harder to go against the fast runner. Goal for working harder and running faster.

Conclusion
Goals are very important!
Ask if anyone has set any in this time?
• Get feedback and comment on.
List some of your own.
• short term-- go Sunday church and get something out of lesson
• Wednesday nights teach and be there for teens
• Long term-Always be an example and try to make others see that Christians are fun.
• Live as if God was there with me.
