Operation S.F.C. is a one month program used to bring unity and excitement to the Mililani Baptist Youth minsitry. It uses the military theme to reach out to P.O.W.'s (guests) and M.I.A.'s (members who haven't come in a long time). During the busy month of February we will divide our Youth group into military type squads. The goal of using this program for the month is to develop student leaders and bring additional excitement. Squads will compete for weekly attendance points, special event points, scripture memory points, bringing a guest points and bringing a member who has not been to church youth group in a while. Operation S.F.C. is only a tool for the Mililani Baptist Church Youth to accomplish the Great Commission: "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."
|
|
A. Squads will begin with the same number of people.
B. New squad members may be added on a first come first serve basis
C. Squad members may change squads IF the change is made by Sunday, February 1, the beginning of OPERATION S.F.C. This change must be in writing and given to the Youth Pastor.
D. Plan and operate an OPERATION S.F.C. Event. (See Sergeant's Job Description).
E. Find a name for your squad and create a military type chant.
|
|
A. Captains are to call Sergeant, Corporal, and each Private each of the four weeks of OPERATION S.F.C. During the call: 1. Encourage them to have a daily quiet time with God. 2. Encourage them to attend all youth group activities. 3. Encourage each squad member to invite at least one person to each youth group activity. 4. Pray (over the Phone) with them for their needs and the needs of the other squad members.
B. See that the Sergeant is planning an OPERATION S.F.C. Event: 1. The Event can be any time your squad wants it to be between February 1 - - March 1, 1998. 2. The event can be anything FUN you want to do (anything Christ would do)! 3. To qualify for an OPERATION S.F.C. Event: a. All members should be there. You will be docked points for each member NOT present. b. The Youth Minister or a Sunday School Worker must be contacted BEFORE the event. Leave a message on answering machines if you are unable to talk directly to them. c. Spend some time in prayer -- share prayer requests and pray for them. Note: Everyone does not have to pray outloud, but that would be desirable. d. If a Sunday School teacher or the Youth Minister is invited, extra points will be given.
C. See that the Corporal records the attendance of each member for each Youth group event or meeting. They must give the attendance sheet to the Youth Minister to assure each squad member will get credit for their attendance. If your Corporal is not present it is your responsibility to appoint someone to this task (or do it yourself).
D. Each week assign members a prayer partner.
E. Commit, for sure, to come to Sunday School each Sunday for the four Sundays of OPERATION S.F.C. F. Plus the responsibilities of the Privates.

B. To receive points the squad member must tell the verse to his/her Sunday School Teacher or Youth Minister.
C. Memorize the following verses* (These verses are printed here for your convenience out of the King James. Feel free to memorize out of any translation.):
1. Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
2. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
3. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
4. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
5. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
6. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
7. 1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
8. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
9. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
11. Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
* If you are working through "Paul/Timothy" or any of the "Experiencing God" you may substitute those memory verses for the above.

| Feel free to use the ideas generated by OPERATION S.F.C. (Students For Christ) in anyway God leads. Tweak it, mold it, change it, BUT DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE MONEY WITH IT. If you do you will have to tell me, when we get to heaven, WHY!!
You could use the idea but use a Sports Theme or an Olympic theme. |
