Leading the Blind
By Marilyn Bakk
Many people do not have the instructions from the gospel to get them to heaven. These people need to hear.
Biblical Reference: II Cor 5:7, Eph 2:8
Location: Mall, school, church
Background/Setup:
Many people are trying to live their lives without God. Without their faith in Jesus, these people are blind and wandering aimlessly in this world in search for the reasons for life. We as Christians should help lead the blind to Christ so they can have their sight restored.
Warm-up
Blindfold a student. Tell them to go to a certain spot in the building. The first time they do not have any help. Next have someone help them find the spot. Ask them how they felt being alone and not knowing where to go. How did it feel when you had help? What was it like when you reached the destination?
Study
Read II Cor 5:7 What does this mean to you? What does by sight mean?
Read Eph 2:8Can we do things on our own?
Discuss total faith in Christ.
Application
If we see people who are living a blind life we should be willing to help them see Jesus.
Reflection
What will you do the next time you see a friend living in darkness. How will you live your faith?
