James Moberg Denomination: Calvary Chapel Send Email Send 'Thank-you' |
Synopsis: When we stray and feel that God's given up on us, we need to understand God's love and devotion toward us. |
Setup:
As Christian we all go through periods in our lives where we
do things that go against God's commands. Some even to the point that we wonder
if God has turned his back on us. We are going to look for a strayed or lost
child of God. Pretend that you have lost your lamb and absolutely must find it.
Warmup:
Send the group out alone as individuals. You have lost one
of your sheep and they must search until they find it. Select one person to be
the sheep, give him an old t-shirt with the word "sheep" on it. Have
him hide somwhere till found. Give them about twenty minutes to find him.
Study:
This exercise was to show us that when we are lost God
doesn't stop looking for us.
Application:
Reflection:
1. In the parable of the lost sheep, why would the
shephed leave the 99 for the 1?
2. How does that fit into our lives if we are
spiritually healthy/lost?
3. What do these parables say that brings joy to
God? How can we cause rejoicing in heaven? We should always have our eyes
searching for the lost sheep in the world.
