Synopsis: Help your teens build their faith and gain strength in the face of persecution. Will you be the Noah of today? |
Gen. 6:8-9:17
Opening - Have 8 teens sit in row. Ask question and prep 7(before class) to answer wrong and make last one (who hasn't a clue about anything) agree with wrong even if he knows it is not right. (By the peer pressure)
*you must make it a good question that is not too easy so that they just go along with everybody else.
Intro - Explain the meaning of game/illustration. This proves how strong Noah was in his day. Let's talk about Noah and the Ark.
Noah was 1st mentioned when 500 yrs old. Had a line of believing ancestors.
Conditions- Gen. 6:9-12
Noah remained faithful even when made laughing stock of town. People thought he had gone mad.
Why would God do this? (Reply) -----He will soon be rewarded.
Noah couldn't see the reward but trusted and did what God commanded. Sometimes God allows troubled times yet when faithful, we'll be rewarded. Of all men in Bible he stood unsurpassed on faith.
Would you have given up or fallen to the peer pressure of everyone else?
How about today?
If God called you to something great yet seemed almost impossible, could you do it?
Recap
Noah was called to do the impossible and most humiliating thing. He was persecuted and made fun of yet he continued to preach the gospel as he worked and was scoffed at.
Conclusion Could you be this man today? Is God calling you and are you listening? Be a tool!
