Synopsis: Try these fun filled games with newspaper. Make a night of thrills with these incredibly exciting games. |
Newspaper fun
You'll need a large amount of newspaper and some duck tape. Start with making sure all the kids know each other's name.
SWAT--roll a nice sized newspaper up (you might
want to tape it up with a couple pieces of tape to keep it from falling apart)
and make one person "it". Sit in a circle and put the
volunteer,"it" in the middle.(if sitting on floor make sure all the
ones in the circle have their knees up) Have "it" call out a name of
one of those in the group. When "it" calls out a name, he must hit
that person across the knees before the person who's name was called, calls
another name and so forth. SO if I were it, and I called out the name joe, I
would have to hit joe across the knees before he calls out a name of someone
else. If he does, then I would have to hit the person he calls out and the next
and the next until I get one of them. Watch the person in the middle run around
out of control as you point in one direction and call someone's name who is
sitting in another.
This is where you will need many newspapers.
FIND IT--you sit in the front of the room and
break up your teens into groups. (Best if more than two groups) All you do is
spread out the newspaper in the middle of the floor and call out a word that
might be found in the papers and the irst one to rip it out and put it in your
hand is the winner. You can ask for pictures, numbers, words, or colors. It is
so funny watching the papers fly through the air as the teens frantically go
through them searching for the object called. This is a great game and the mess
of papers is worth it!
Will need duck tape or other sticky tape.
PICK-UP--Have one or two people on the team put tape on a one volunteer on each team. The tape must have the sticky part out. The other team members must be balling the papers up at this point, preparing for the rest of the game. When each team has one person taped up (with tape facing out) and the papers are balled up, give the directions: whatever team can throw and stick the most balls of newspaper on the chosen person is the winner. This is not only a fun game but an easy way to pick up the mess. Just scrap off the papers into a trash bag after you declare a winner. (You might want to have a certain line they must throw from so that it is not too easy) Have fun with this collection of newspaper games!
