Synopsis: An outline on Jesus's ministry among the people he encountered. |
Throughout his entire ministry, Jesus never let an opportunity to impact a person's life pass by without taking advantage of it. We see here in this scripture passage that nif ministry was "among the people."
The only thing that mattered to Jesus was the person, or group of people, he was ministering to at that time.
Each of us are surrounded by people each and every day of our lives. Family, friends, and those who simply stand off to the side and observe our lives to see how we respond to various circumstances. We are aware of the family and friends, but we may not be aware of the "observers." However, the observers are definitely aware of you. If you have ever named the name of Jesus as your Lord and Savior you can rest assured that as you walk "among the people," you are being watched.
We have a responsibility to the people we come in contact with to live our lives in such a fashion that they can see God working in and through us.
Some people associated Christianity with...
However, Christianity is more than a place or a series of activities. True Christianity should be a lifestyle. My life has not always reflected this truth. When in high school I was not always as interested in spiritual things as I should have been. As a result my life was not one that an impartial observer would have been deeply impressed with. I was never involved in most of the behaviors that we think of as bad, but neither was I deeply involved in spiritual activities that would have been beneficial to myself and my friends. In summary - I blew high school.
As Christians we must take advantage of every opportunity that arises to share our faith or influence our friends for Jesus. I lost many opportunities in high school that will never be regained. Some of those people are dead now and there is absolutely no way I will ever be able to share my faith with them.
You must make a commitment today to leave here and allow Christ to work in and through your life in such a way that you will be able to make a difference in the lives of the people you move among. As Jesus moved among the people in his life, so too must we move among the people in our lives.
