Youth Pastor - Senior High (Phoenix, )

Moon Valley Bible Church is looking for a Youth Pastor who will personally lead the High School Ministry and provide oversight, direction and mentorship for Middle School and College Ministries.

Roles & Responsibilities:
A.Shepherding: serves as spiritual shepherd/overseer to students in junior high through college and their parents
B.Evangelism: mobilizes students to reach their unbelieving friends for Christ; maintains a close relationship with and presence at surrounding schools; looks for ways students can engage their community with acts of love that show off Jesus
C.Discipleship: nurtures students toward completeness in Christ through a consistent, balance of worship, relational connection, spiritual growth, and multiplication
D.Leadership Development: recruits, trains, and coaches youth ministry leaders, including staffers, students, parents and volunteers
E.Teaching: teaches through books of the Bible by interpreting a biblical text accurately and presenting it to students in a way that they can understand and apply; equips and encourages students to read, interpret, and apply the Bible for themselves
F.Parents: partners with parents, keeping them informed and helping to equip them to raise their own children effectively
G.Events: coordinates youth camps, missions trips, conferences, etc, with the understanding that success is not measured by the number events that can be put on the calendar, but by changed lives
H. Personal Spiritual Health: attends to personal spiritual health by attending adult worship service, being a part of a life group, personal accountability, quiet time

Qualifications:
A.Calling: feels called to youth ministry, loves youth
B.Character: responsible, personal integrity, teachable
C. Chemistry: personality, style and philosophy that works well in established church structure
D.Ministry Experience: Sufficient experience to demonstrate an ability to accomplish the eight primary roles in section IV (Roles and Responsibilities.)
E.Leadership: able to cast vision and mobilize people to realize it
F.Theology: solidly evangelical; able to embrace our doctrinal statement; holds to a free-grace view of salvation as opposed to lordship salvation
G.Longevity: does not view this as a temporary assignment, but as a long-term opportunity; not prone to go through a youth ministry bag of tricks and move on
H.Ministry Style: relational; easily connects with students and parents, earning the right to be heard by building relational equity; purpose-driven; authentic; aware of and adapts to youth culture without being trendy or unbiblical
I.Work Ethic: works hard; willing to assume responsibility; self-motivated; disciplined; proactive; faithful; servant attitude
J.Education: Bachelors Degree (with some Biblical training)

Time Required: full-time, 40+ hours per week

Salary: Total starting compensation package is $40,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience.
