Youth Pastor/Director/Minister/Coordinator (marietta, GA)

Lutheran Church of the Resurrection is located in Marietta, Georgia, in a suburban part of Cobb County that is commonly referred to as “East Cobb”. We worship 240 per Sunday during two services, one traditional and one contemporary.We are blessed with an outstanding staff, including a Senior Pastor, Director of Music Ministries, Director of Lay Ministries, Director of Adult Ministries, and Office Manager. We are a dynamic and growing congregation, driven by the desire to deepen our relationships with Jesus Christ through strong worship experiences, outreach to our community and beyond, and discipleship.

The Director of Ministries for Children and Youth at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection is responsible for developing a vision/strategy, providing leadership for, and integrating a children’s/youth ministry program that encourages the children/youth to Know that Jesus loves them, Grow in relationship with Him, and Go into the world to serve. This is a full time position.

Areas of Responsibility
• Lead the children’s/youth ministry in fulfilling our vision:We are a diverse community of disciples continually deepening our relationships with Jesus Christ by knowing, growing, and going.
•Integrate all ministry programs and offerings for ages birth through college
•Recruit, organize, supervise and train lay teachers and leaders; provide leadership for curriculum development
•Raise up effective mentors for the youth and from the youth
•Ensure youth and children have events that allow for discipleship, worship, outreach, and fellowship
•Develop and implement a Confirmation program for 7th-8th graders
•Foster networking among local churches and youth workers
•Advise and consult VBS coordinators to ensure success of Vacation Bible School
•Partner with Music Ministries and Worship Teams to provide opportunities for children and youth to be incorporated into worship
•Provide opportunities for children and youth to build small groups/communities of authentic relationship, both with each other and with adult members of the congregation.

Qualifications
•College graduate
•Background/education/experience of 5 years or more in Children or Youth work or related area
•Demonstrates a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ
•Committed to living and modeling a Christian lifestyle
•Strong team player
•Demonstrated planning, organizational, and program management skills
•Excellent oral and written communication skills; proven ability to interact with all ages
•Ability to effectively assess and implement innovative methods and programs to enhance the children’s/youth ministry
•A sound background in Lutheran ideology is desired
