Director of Youth Ministries – Full Time

We are a Madison area congregation that, having experienced over a decade of sustained growth, is remarkably supportive of youth ministry. Since being nationally recognized as an exemplary youth ministry in 2003 (by the Lilly Foundation), we have sought to actively grow, develop and, most importantly, deepen our ministry to Middle and High School students. Our Christ-centered, relationally-based ministry “exists to REACH students in the name of Jesus, CONNECT them with other believers, help them to GROW in their faith, and guide them in finding their MINISTRY as they HONOR God with their lives.”

We are seeking a passionate Christ-follower who is exploring a call to serve Jesus in the context of Youth Ministry. The ideal candidate is one who actively seeks to grow and learn in life, faith and ministry. Our established group of students and our adult volunteer leader team are excited about the ministry, willing to be challenged in their seeking of the Kingdom of God and are notably excited about mission opportunities (including established monthly local, and annual regional and international short term missions).

Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian Church is strongly supported by the Senior Pastor, a dedicated church budget, full time Director of Youth Ministries since 2000 (our current director of five years, like his predecessor, is leaving the Youth Ministry to pursue a seminary degree and ordained ministry), a dedicated youth space (with sound system, stage, drum set, keyboard, hardwired projection, etc.), and a team of volunteers who understand that they are ministers to youth, not chaperones.
