Children’s/Youth Pastor

We are seeking a part-time Child/Youth Pastor for the Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Bondurant, IA (a suburb of Des Moines).

We are looking for an innovative and energetic leader to re-create and lead activities for young people in our church and community. We have several long-standing programs for all ages that need new ideas and leadership to interest youth and ultimately attract families and young people in our growing community. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience, strong theological knowledge and preferred formal education.

As the church grows, this position may move to a part-time age specific position or a full-time position.

• Develop, determine & coordinate youth Christian education curriculum
• Lead and coordinate Children’s Church
• Develop new activities/programs that may replace or add to Sr. High youth program
• Plan, coordinate & lead Youth Sunday services
• Plan, coordinate & lead Vacation Bible School
• Research, develop and determine evening youth program curriculum
• Plan, coordinate & provide children’s moment for Sunday services in cooperation with Pastor and weekly message.
• Organize and recruit volunteers for youth activities
