Job Summary

Bezanson Community Church (BCC) is committed to the support of a full-time associate pastor with a primary focus in youth ministry. The associate pastor will conduct regular meetings with our youth as well as outreach to the teens of our community through involvement with the local schools, sports teams, etc. Our goal is that all our communities teens (both churched and non-churched) come into a relationship with God, be discipled and assimilated into the local church.

Preferred Qualifications and Characteristics

?The individual fits the character qualifications of an overseer stipulated in 1 Timothy.
?The individual agrees with the Statement of Faith of the Bezanson Community Church.
?The individual will have a bachelor’s degree in youth work or a general religious bachelor’s degree with a youth emphasis or other appropriate education.
?The individual will have several years experience working with youth.
?The individual will have demonstrated, through references and previous experience, a high level of personal integrity, an active devotional life, strong gifts in, and a heart for, teen evangelism.
?The individual will have spiritual gifts in areas of evangelism and leadership with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and under authority structures.
?The individual is a self starter and able to work well alone, but also is able to work well with a team.
?Will see himself as a pastor to the entire congregation.

Job Description

Youth Ministry Related
?Will conduct regular youth meetings.
?Will give vision and structure to developing a community outreach oriented philosophy of youth ministry for the BCC.
?The associate pastor will give attention to teens in their environment.
?The associate pastor will be responsible to recruit and train volunteer youth workers.
?Will develop mentoring and discipling relationships with key youth.
?Model to local youth a dynamic relationship with Christ, high ethical standards and personal integrity.
?Is available to minister to parents of youth as needed.
?Is responsible to oversee teaching ministry to youth.
?The associate pastor is responsible to oversee the administration of the church bus.
?The associate pastor is responsible for overseeing the administration of the youth budget and youth account and has authority in the use of budgeted funds for the use of the youth ministry.
?Is prepared to work non-traditional hours.

Church Related

?The associate pastor will serve on the elder’s board and the church board and serves under their authority.
?The associate pastor in day to day activities reports directly to the pastor but will report monthly to the board and elders.
?Plays an active role in the holistic life of BCC and attends services regularly.
?Because BCC is a multi-generational church, the associate pastor will preach between 6-12 times a year in Sunday morning worship services.
?The associate pastor will be regularly involved in the Sunday morning worship service according to areas of giftedness.
?Will assist the pastor in occasional pastoral activities as needed and available.
?Will attend weekly staff meeting with church staff.
?Personally attends to prayer and the study of Scripture
?Will have a mentor relationship with the pastor but will be respected as a colleague and peer in the ministry.

Other areas of involvement, leadership or oversight in church ministries are encouraged as BCC is committed to helping the associate pastor grow in the development of their spiritual gifts, abilities, talents, and personal ministry passions provided they do not interfere with the core mission and vision of the associate pastor’s role of youth ministry and youth outreach.

Remuneration
Salary is to be determined by the church board but is competitive based upon youth pastor salaries in our region. Remuneration however will include the following: Denominational conference budget, professional development budget, travel mileage budget, EFCC benefit plan (optional).
