Intern (Gulfport, MS)

The Intern Program at Youth for Christ is an incredible, hands-on learning experience for motivated individuals who want to be trained to do ministry in a variety of settings. Our Internship Program allows you to integrate your faith with work, relationships, and life. The ministry of Youth for Christ places you in a unique position where God will use you in incredible ways in the lives of students.

One Year Internship:

Youth for Christ has 4 areas of ministry that an intern would be involved in over the year. They include:
1. Campus Life – This is a club on public school campus that reaches out to unchurched students. We spend time on campus with students in the lunchroom and other events in order to share the life changing message of Jesus Christ. Our clubs' average 50 – 350 students. We currently work on 19 public school campuses where we see over 2500 students a week.
2. The Xtreme – This is a faith based community center that is open every Saturday night for middle and high school students. We have a skate park, video games, dance floor, Christian music, basketball court, and more. The students come hang out with their friends and during the evening we have halftime where we share a message with the students.
3. Youth Guidance – (Optional for interns) Each week we visit 3 youth detention centers to share the life changing message of Jesus Christ. We are there to listen and show the students we care about them even when they make mistakes.
4. Student Leadership - The meeting is made up of Christian students who want to reach their campus for Jesus Christ. We help the students grow in their walk, challenge them to serve their campus, and encourage them to invite their lost friends to Campus Life.

We have room for up to 4 interns for this program which begins July 14, 2008 and ends May 31, 2009. These starting dates are negotiable. We will pay each intern a salary of $800.00 per month plus FREE housing. And if you like to make more, we will give you the opportunity to raise an additional $300.00 per month if you choose. Youth for Christ is searching for well-qualified applicants who have a heart for service to youth and the enthusiasm to work hands-on.

Requirements: A high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, your own transportation, and willing to teach the application of Biblical principles.
