Set up a badminton court and net as normal. Divide the kids into two teams, the theoretical maximum is about ten per team. Each team takes one side of the court. Every player has a racquet.Appoint a referee, who stands alongside the net, and two line judges, one for each half.
Start the game by throwing ten shuttlecocks into each half of the court. The kids then serve them all, and try to return the shots from their opponents. There are no rules (apart from the obvious ones about not clubbing opponents etc.)
If a shuttlecock lands in one team's court, they gain a point. The line judges count the number of times a shuttlecock lands in their area. Shuttles that land out don't count, and incur no penalty.
At the end of the game, the team with the least points (i.e. least shuttles landing in their court) is the winner. For extra madness, keep throwing more shuttles into play as the game progresses. I've found that games of five minutes can yield scores of several hundred points.
Enjoy!
