Youth Ministry Games : Orange Roll

Materials: 2 athletic tube socks, 4 large naval oranges, 4 pieces of cloth to use as belts

Form two lines of players behind the start/finish line. The first two players in each line wrap the "belts" around their waist. One orange is dropped into each sock. The sock is then tied on the belt of the first person in each line. It is tied on in the middle of the back, where an animal's tail would be located. The other orange is put on the start/finish line. At the opposite end of the playing field, position a folding chair or some object for the players to maneuver their oranges around. Each player is to take the orange dangling from their backside in the sock and swat the orange on the ground down the field by swinging their body back and forth to create a swinging orange-filled sock pendulum. Once the first person completes the task, he gets the next player to untie the sock from his belt and player one helps player two tie the orange-loaded sock onto his belt. First team to complete this task with all its members wins.
