Youth Ministry Games : Godball

Materials: 7 or so squishy balls, pen, paper, 2 concordances, 2 bibles, masking tape/cones/youths hats

set up
just like a game of warball or dodgeball by dividing room/field in two equal halves with tape/cones/whatever. Set one concordance in each teams "out box" (the lines where people go after they've been hit with a ball). Write names of sins on the paper and attach them to the balls so the tags are visible to the kids after they've been hit.

You play the game just like dodgeball. If you get hit you're out, but instead of going back in when a team mate catches a ball, you go back in after you find a verse in the bible that talks about the sin you were hit with.
I.E. you get hit with the lust ball and you find proverbs 6:25 in the concordance, look it up in the bible, read the passage to the staff member waiting at the head of the line to verify the verse, write it down along with your name for future reference, then run back into the game.

you can get out 3 times before you're out for good. The team with the most people in after a certain amount of time wins. My group likes to play it until everyone on the other team is gone but that takes a little while longer.

you may give the kids treats for remembering the verses they wrote down at the next meeting. It can get them interested in the game more.
